This authentically Canadian LuxDay Experience for 8 with a guide starts with a simple paddling lesson close to shore to emphasise working together as a team and then becomes a guided trip where you will explore Barrier Lake. Your guide will recount the Voyageur days and the significance if these explorers to Western Canada. The voyageurs were people who engaged in the transporting of furs by canoe during the fur trade. Voyageur is a French word, which means "traveler". The zenith was in the 18th and early 19th centuries where transportation was for longer distances. This major and challenging task of the fur trading business was done by canoe and largely by French Canadians.
This experience is on one of Albertas' majestic lakes in Kananaskis. The boat is $25" long and holds 9 adult guests.
